INGREDIENT

2 slices shokupan bread (shokupan/roti tawar)

Spread
50 g unsalted butter (mentega tawar)
50 g brown sugar 
25 g honey (madu)
a pinch of salt (sejumput garam)

Filling
40-50 g Mozzarella Cheese

Optional Topping 
Vanilla Ice Cream
Fresh Blueberry

INSTRUCTIONS

Trim off the crusts from all sides of the bread.
Place mozzarella cheese between the two slices of bread.
For the spread, combine all ingredients and mix well until smooth.
Spread a thin layer evenly over all sides of the bread (avoid spreading too thickly, as it may become overly sweet).
Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 8 minutes. Flip the bread and bake again for another 5 minutes until the surface becomes crunchy and golden brown.
Remove from the oven and serve the Honey Butter Toast with vanilla ice cream and fresh blueberries, or any fruit of your choice

Potong bagian pinggir roti di semua sisi.
Sisipkan mozzarella cheese di antara kedua potong roti.
Untuk spread, campurkan semua bahan lalu aduk hingga rata.
Oleskan spread tipis secara merata ke seluruh permukaan roti (jangan terlalu tebal agar rasanya tidak terlalu manis).
Panggang menggunakan oven pada suhu 200°C selama sekitar 8 menit. Balik roti, lalu panggang kembali sekitar 5 menit hingga permukaan terlihat crunchy dan golden brown.
Keluarkan dari oven dan sajikan Honey Butter Toast dengan vanilla ice cream serta fresh blueberries atau buah favorit lainnya

NOTE

I used homemade shokupan with smaller slices — about half the size of regular store-bought shokupan. However, the ingredient measurements in this recipe are based on standard store-bought shokupan bread. You can find the homemade shokupan recipe through the link button below.
